I parole 07/24/2012, but my release date is 3/22/22. I'm from Dallas, Texas and have been incarcerated since the age of 14. There are a lot of goals that I aim to accomplish and dreams I wish to pursue. I like to write poetry and music, boxing, and I'm interested in history because I believe that knowing where you've been directly affects the direction in which you are going. I tend to strive for success and greatness, unconditionally; that is regardless of the condition that I'm subject to, I allow my ambition and drive to succeed lead me toward the right directions. I refuse to let past mistakes and negative choices hinder or stop my future growth. Upon release on parole, I plan on speaking to at-risk youth (e.g. youth in gangs, using drugs, subject to poverty) using my situation of overcoming my past as an example to encourage them to make better decisions and overcome environmental barriers. As an ex-gang member, I know all too well the effects of environmental pressures upon a pre-teen/teenage. I live by respect, honor, sincerity, and love!
