Q: I would like to write an inmate or two; however, I really
wouldn't want to use my home address. Could I email them
instead?
A: Sorry, no, we do not offer a email service. Companies that offer email service, will only send 1 email to the inmate and if you do not provide an address in that email, the letter will not get forwarded to the inmate. After that, you will be have to write him/her from your POB or which ever address you choose to use. They will not keep taking the expense of mailing inmates your letters. I would higly recommend getting a P.O.B. if you're planning to write many inmates from online. Or you can always write inmates with very long sentences. If you're thinking about any security issues.
Q: Do you offer a trial or a shorter time to place an ad other than one year?
A: Sorry, no I don't - actually, most inmates receive more then a year - I'm never in a rush to remove ads. I try to give everyone a chance to meet postitive people by leaving the ads up as long as possible - I remove ads about every 2-3 months - so it's really a matter of timing. Sometimes he'll get exactly his year and 1 extra month that I give, or sometimes he'll luck up and get 1 1/2 years. So if he's getting out soon the extra time will not help, but if he has to serve lots of time, the extra time will help. Those who annoy me the whole time he's up, I'm sure to remove his ad promotely when his ad expires. -
Q: My letter was returned to me....Why?
A: Be sure that you write down the inmates name, I.D. and
full mailing address as you see it. Normally the Prison rejection
note/ or stamp will tell you why the letter was returned on the
outside of the envelope. Follow that carefully, and before you send
anything, be sure to ask him/her first if they can receive such items.
Do not put perfume, lipstick, or stickers on the outside
of your envelopes it will be returned.
Q: Can a family or friend pay for an ad for an inmate and how are
payments accepted?
A: Family/Friends can pay for an inmate. We accept Money Orders, Personel Checks (add $8.00 extra for all the bad checks that we we receive); if you do not send the $8.00 extra, we will only add your love one for 11 months and not the full year. We accept ALL MAJOR Credit Cards - via www.paypal.com This is a secured payment method, and we DO NOT have access to your credit Card information at all. Pay Pal is a free site to sign up for. PLEASE BE SURE TO SUBMIT ALL THREE ITEMS IF YOU ARE PAYING FOR AN AD ONLINE: FACT SHEET, HIS BIO AND ATTACH HIS PHOTO. AND HE'LL GO UP ASAP! THIS IS THE QUICKEST WAY FOR ADS TO GO UP! Q: Can anyone write to an inmate?
A: Sure - as long as the person is 18 years and older.
Q: My Sons ad is about to expire, I can not afford to renew his ad - do you offer incentives?
A: Yes we do! All I ask is for him to spread the word about our site - EVERY TIME HE REFERS A FRIEND, WE'LL GIVE HIM 3 EXTRA MONTHS ON HIS AD! His friend must get at least a basic ad. He must do this before his own ad expires and his name needs to be on the back of his friends application, or his friend must mention his name when buying his ad. However, if this get confusing, or cause complications, we'll have to discontinue referrals.
Q: How long will it take for the ad to go up?
A: After I receive everything; pictures, text, payment
(checks have cleared), about 10 days, but give us 4-6 weeks - I always like to give myself the extra time, in event, I'm out of town, backed up with work etc.
Q: I'm new to this, is there anything I should
know or be careful of?
A: Sure. Like any new situation use caution, be careful,
and be kind without overdoing it. Use good judgment. We do not
always list the inmates conviction, so please be careful. ALSO BEWARE: DO NOT GO FOR TRANSFERRING ANY CALLS TO YOU CELL PHONE AFTER YOUR FREE NIGHT TIME MINUTES HAVE STARTED - I had a friend who had to pay well over $8,500 in telephone calls because of this stupid mistake - or shall I say "gimmick"! WATCH THE PHONE CALLS!!!!!! AND THE INMATE DID NOT HELP PAY NOT ONE RED CENT TO HELP PAID FOR THE BILL - BUT YET, HE SURE ENJOYED TO CONVERSATIONS THOUGH!
Q: I see you have visited a few of the inmates. How can my love one receive a visit?
Those visits were a "Once in a life time visit", and I will not offer that anymore. However, I will consider a visit, at his expense (or who ever is willing to pay for it). These visits are not for everyone, it will be QUITE COSTLY. It's a friendly, professional visit, and nothing more. You can email me for more info. writesomeone@aol.com
Q: How do I let an inmate know about your service?
A: You can print out the placing an ad page, the order form
page, tell him where you saw my ad, and mail him the info,
and hopefully he/she would want to join.
Q: Will you list an inmate who is not in the United States?
A: No, not at this time. Because it would be costly to create a link for one Country. We would have to have many request for that Country, then, yes, we will create a link for that Country. Payments will have to be a Prison check, U.S. Money Order, or U.S. Postal Stamps.
Q: Since I don't have access to the Internet, how would I know if my ad
is up or still online?
A: The only way you'll know is if you have a friend or
family member go online to check for you. I could also supply
one print out copy for you if you like, but hopefully, you'll
be receiving mail, so that will also let you know.
Q: I have
no idea what I should say in my ad can you give
me any tips?
A: Think about all the things that you're interested
in. Your hobbies, your accomplishments, your likes and dislikes,
the kind of person(s) that you wish to contact you. You may
want to talk about why you are in prison or if you're
looking for some legal help,or what's your plan upon your release.
Q: I have 8 months left, If I place an ad for 1 year, what will happend to my last 4 months?
A: You can now provide us with an outside forwarding address and I'll put that one up, so you'll still get use of your full year.
Q: What happens if after a few months I get no
response? Are
there any refunds?
A: There are no refunds. So please think twice before
you do this. However, I heavily advertise the site in
many magazines, and online.
I cannot guarantee results, only that I do publicize
and try
to get as much traffic as I can to the site. Q: I would like to place a text ad,
because I don't have a photo...Could I use my artwork
in place of a photo?
A: Yes you may as long as it's on paper no longer
than 8 x 11 so we can scan it in. But remember, a photo is always better.
Q: Do
you ever sit down to write the guys yourself?
A: Yes, I do occassionally when time permits. I particularly find those who have written books interesting; maybe because I'm writing one, and that's a common interest; so I may drop a line. Also, I may also drop Gold and Platinum members a line, since I stay more in contact with them at least for that year. I may drop a short note to one who I feel needs it, or surprise someone with a birthday card once in awhile. Surprises are a good feeling. There is no rhyme or reason who I pick or why. I just like to do it.
Q: Do you provide any other items/services for inmates?
A: Yes, we now sell Factory Sealed Music CD's and Movie DVD's - these will be 100% original - factory sealed items. AFTER WE HAVE RECEIVED A CHECK OR MONEY ORDER FOR $19.95, we will then look at his/her list of 7 items PER $19.95. We will not accept a list of CD's or Movies - "TO SEE IF WE CAN GET IT, BEFORE WE RECEIVE THE Check or Money order for $19.95 (this includes shipping as well). If we can can not get 1 item from his/her list, the same check we received, will be return. If we get the item, and the Prison rejects it, There will be no refunds. SO PLEASE SELECT CAREFULLY!! However, we will forward the rejected item(s) to an outside address for $4.00. NOTE: Prisons will NOT accept CD's with Parent Advisory explicit lyrics on the front.
We also sell Adult DVD's - this is not per'say for the inmate, but it's for Girlfriends and wives of the inmates - to keep them "busy" sorta speak until he comes home LOL! We have 20 titles and many Grab Bag DVD's. We also sell Adult Magazines - these magazines CONTAIN FULL EXPLICIT NUDITY -some have NO penetration shots (in the other ones) - but most DO. Sometimes Prisonms will not allow me to send magazines and sometimes they will. It's a 95% of the times I'm able to get them in, 5% of the times I can't. But I can always send mags to an outside source. IF THE INMATE WOULD LIKE A COPY OF THIS PAGE AND OF LISTING OF OUR DVD'S, it will be a text version of these items.
